Summary and History

Welcome to Roosevelt Elementary School, proudly located in the heart of New Brunswick and home to approximately 500 students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Our culturally and linguistically diverse community is one of our greatest strengths, and we are proud to serve families in a city rich with opportunities, partnerships, and connections to organizations such as Rutgers University and our many community partners.

At Roosevelt, we are committed to Preparing, Empowering, and Inspiring lifelong learners and leaders. This year, our theme, “Wild About Learning,” celebrates the curiosity, perseverance, creativity, and joy we want our students to bring to school each day. We believe that every child deserves to feel valued, challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

Our dedicated staff works collaboratively to create engaging, rigorous, and supportive learning environments that meet the diverse needs of our students. Through high-quality instruction, targeted intervention and enrichment, technology, the arts, world language, social-emotional learning, and meaningful professional development, we strive to educate the whole child. Just as importantly, we want our students to develop confidence, find their voices, take ownership of their learning, and know that they belong.

What makes Roosevelt truly special extends far beyond the classroom. Through strong partnerships with our families and community organizations, our students have access to unique experiences in the arts, athletics, enrichment, tutoring, and leadership. We believe our families are essential partners in this work and remain committed to providing opportunities for parents and caregivers to learn, participate, and grow alongside us.

At the heart of our Roosevelt family is a simple but powerful belief: “I Can, I Will, I Must.” I Can represents our belief in ourselves and our students. I Will represents our commitment to continuous growth and improvement. I Must reminds us of the urgency and responsibility we share to ensure that every Roosevelt Bear has the opportunity to succeed.

As Principal, I am proud to lead a school community where relationships matter, diversity is celebrated, and children are encouraged to dream big. Together, our students, staff, families, and community partners will continue to learn from our challenges, celebrate our accomplishments, and create opportunities for every child to thrive.
